100 SQUADRON

LANCASTER

After 3 to 4 weeks on conversion at 1656 Con Unit at Lindholme he was posted to 100 Squadron RAF at Waltham just outside Grimsby on 11 May 1943.

From Waltham he flew 5 operational sorties over Germany in Lancasters. These raids were on Bochum, Essen, Dusseldorf, Cologne and another to Bochum.
