I know that my Grandad (died ~1978) flew as a flight engineer during WW2 on a Lancaster bomber. He later emigrated to Australia. I will check with my father who has a lot more information on this. I know that he was part of an Australian squadron later on. His name was Harold (Tubby) Carruthers.
He was part of 463 squadron. They were known as the "oddbods". He was the only Englishman in the squadron of Australians.
Are you interested in this information? Do you someone who might be.
Regards
Shane Carruthers
