We met last Saturday with Mr. David Francis, DFC, formerly a Navigator with 460 Squadron from November 44 to April 45. He is a long-time friend of my wife's uncle.
We spent some hours talking about his various exploits - he was involved in 33 missions - and he brought with him his various medals (including his DFC and the accompanying citation) and his Flying Helmet, oxygen mask and intercom.
He flew in "C-Charlie" (2) with Pilot Gus Rose. He is actually an Welshman from the Royal Air Force.
He is in the process of contributing to a book on flyer's experiences during the War and we assume is a member of the 460th Association.
If you are not in touch with him, we can (with his permission of course) obtain his address and other details and will forward them on to you. Please advise.
