"VILLAGE INN" - BINBROOK

The "Village Inn" was the Station Officer's Mess Bar adjacent to the Officer's Mess.  It was built in 1943 and resembled an old English inn.  The Officer's Mess members paid for the running of the "Village Inn" and assisted in running the Inn.  Vic Grimmett told me that the "Village Inn" was named after the secret radar equipment fitted to 460 Squadron aircraft to detect enemy aircraft and their rate of closing speed.
